Wrap the contours of England's highest mountains around your neck. This magenta pink and dark grey cowl carries the contour lines of Scafell and Scafell Pike, knitted in merino wool in my Cumbrian studio for anyone who loves the Lake District fells.
 
The design is a collaboration with my husband, Mark of Mark Appleton Design. Mark drew the contours of the Scafell range, and I worked out a knitting pattern so his lines curve and ripple through the fabric, much as they do on the map.
 
The cowl is knitted as a double layer for structure and warmth, trapping heat on windy summits while letting moisture escape on the way up. Because the merino has no chemical superwash treatment, it stays naturally soft and breathable against your skin.
